1. Crowded behind the scenes
If you want to do a movie right, you need people. A lot of people. There’s the director, the camera man, the assistant camera man, the lighting responsible, stylists, make-up artist, sound engineer, lots of actors, a production manager, a post-production manager, the creative director, the account manager. In total the crew counted no less than 25 people.
2. Everything’s a meeting room
The entire shoot took place on the 32nd floor of a Canary Wharf office building (London). The emergency room was created by mounting blue curtains to a frame, placing the hospital bed head panel on two office closets, and entering the typical hospital furniture. The sounds were added via sound design.
3. No humans were harmed during the production of this video…
All injuries were carefully applied by a specialized make-up artist. One actor got a mosquito bite.
4. …but one LCD screen did not survive its 5 minutes of fame
And we’re not talking about the cracks you see on the screen. Those are actually fake and were administered by the same props team that worked on Gladiator. On the image below you can see how we shot the drop of the LCD screen. It was the intention to drop the screen and catch it with a blanket, but in one of the attempts the screen dropped and broke.
However, the screen was so popular that we decided to create another one for promotion of the video on trade shows and events. It premiered last week on the Gartner IT symposium.
5. With a bit of luck we are introducing a new celebrity with our video
Our main character auditioned the day after our video shoot for Game of Thrones. Not sure whether he landed the gig but, hey, one can dream!
